Allan Blaine Amandus passed away on Saturday, July 7, 2018.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Delpha and Oliver. He leaves behind sons Matthew of Omaha, Jay (Sarah) and their children Maya and Ella of Seattle, WA, daughter Kim of Seattle, WA, and former spouse Diane of Omaha, cousins and many friends.
Allan was known for his many talents in music. He was a band director in Adel, Ankeny, Goldfield, and Greene, all in Iowa. He also taught for many years at Ralston High School in Ralston, NE.
Allan was also in many bands throughout his life starting at the age of 16 and continued until his untimely passing at 67 years. He was known for composing most of the music his bands used.
He had a large, boisterous voice which was so beautiful; everyone who had the opportunity to hear him sing enjoyed it immensely. He also sang in church choirs, for weddings and funerals, and with his bands.
Allan's faith was very important to him. He was a member of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church where he served as an elder for many years.
Allan Amandus leaves a legacy of beautiful music, a love of family, and deep spiritual faith which will never be forgotten.
