Andrew "Drew" Michael Henderson walked into the arms of God peacefully on the morning of April 21st surrounded by loved ones at the young age of 47.
Andrew was preceded in death by his grandparents Clarence and Dorothy Henderson; grandparents Vincent and Eunice Moilan.
He is survived by his lovely wife of 17 years Jill M. Henderson; daughter Gracie and son Luke and "caregiver" Mabel; parents Steve and Gail Henderson; sister Kristin (Tom) Fitzgerald.
Nieces Emily, Brynn and Abby; Mother and Father in-law Rodney and Sue Young; sisters in-law Audrey (TJ Bazar) Young, Erin (Ben) Ramaker; niece Meadow and nephew Everett; and many more aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends.
Drew was born in 1974 to his parents Steve and Gail Henderson. He and his younger sister Kristin moved with their parents to several places during his fathers time in the Air Force and settled in Papillion in 1986 at age 11.
Drew graduated from Papillion La-Vista High School in 1993. After high school Drew pursued a career in the Tile Industry. In 2004 Drew along with three others started the tile company Versa-Tile.
On April 12th 2005 Drew married the love of his life Jill in Negril, Jamaica. They were married for 17 years and had 2 beautiful children, Gracie and Luke.
Drew was generous, kind, loving, charismatic, funny, loyal, energetic, honest, spirtual, and courageous. Drew had a great sense of humor and loved hanging out with his friends and family. He could tell a story like nobody else and he would leave you with a smile on your face every time. He enjoyed watching Nebraska Football and the Kansas City Chiefs. You could always find Drew grilling on the back patio or out on the lake fishing. He loved traveling to the beach, especially the British Virgin Islands. He always looked forward to this annual canoe trip in Mullen, NE and his annual fishing trip to Minnesota.
Drew was a man of faith, love and positivity. Growing up Drew attended church with his family. While Drew always had a relationship with God, it was 2006 when he devoted his life to Christ.
He inspired many people to pursue and deepen their own relationship with Jesus. He and his wife Jill were very involved with their church community and small groups. Drew was very involved with the Men's 33 group at Brookside Church and also had a Saturday morning men's group that had been going since 2013. These groups were a big part of his life and formed amazing and lifelong relationships.
Drew loved all kinds of music from Reggae to Rock, Country to Christian. He always had music playing and his phone was often requested for the playlists at gatherings.
Many people refer to Drew as their best friend. He had a way of connecting with people and truly knowing their heart. His contagious laugh and charismatic personality will be missed. While his journey here on earth is through, his impact and love will live on forever in our hearts.
Those attending the memorial service are encouraged to wear their Husker or Kansas City Chiefs gear.
In Lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family.
