Arlis passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of October 12th, 2005 at Methodist Hospital in Omaha after a valiant year long battle against stage IV ovarian cancer. In her final moments on this earth, she was surrounded by the love of her husband Jim and her two sons Russell and Jeremy. Born July 6, 1945 to Gladys (Anderson) Ruud and Paul Ruud at Sharon, ND. Attended grad. school and high school in McVille, ND graduating in 1963. Attended Interstate Business College in Fargo, ND graduating in 1964. Following graduation was employed by Northwestern Bell Telephone Company which later became USWest and then Qwest. Arlis retired from Qwest in July of 2004 with 36 years of service. The last 14 of those years as a software engineer. Arlis married Jim Lee Dec. 30, 1967 and spent the next 4 years as a military wife including one year of separation while Jim was in Vietnam. First son Russell was born Aug. 18, 1971 and second son Jeremy was born Nov. 26, 1975. Arlis, Jim and the boys lived in Fargo from 1972 thru 1984. They moved to Omaha Jan. 1, 1985 and have lived at the same address since then. Arlis is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband Jim; sons, Russell and Jeremy; granddaughter Elizabeth, Age 2; brother, Duane, age 72 of rural McVille, ND. Arlis was a sincere, generous and caring person with a great sense of humor. Her genuineness endeared her to all those who got to know her. People were drawn to her because she always gave much more than she took. She was a ray of sunshine. She will be deeply missed. Interment Silent Hill Cemetery, Aneta, ND.
