Betty passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2019, in Elkhorn, Nebraska at the age of 92 years. She was born Sunday, March 13, 1927, in Oxford, Ohio. She proudly graduated and practiced as a registered nurse from Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. In 1951, Betty began a new life as the wife of a young US Air Force officer and raised two children while the family was stationed throughout the country and in Spain. After she and her husband retired and settled into Omaha permanently, Betty worked countless hours volunteering, from tutoring future citizens learning English as a second language, to introducing schoolchildren to farm animals, to sharing her love of art as a docent at the Joslyn Art Museum, and so much more.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Martha Pfister; brother Robert (Joan) Pfister and sister Dorothy (Thomas +) Stolz.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Winston Baber; son Michael (Janelle) Baber; daughter Nancy(Patrick) Pellowski; and numerous nieces and nephews.
