Betty Ann (Schwartzlander) Sullivan, age 88, passed away Nov 23, 2018. She was a life long Omahan.Betty,the daughter of Frieda and Chris Schwartzlander was born Dec 1, 1929.She had 4 sisters, Beverly, Ginny, Patsy and Bonnie Lou, of whom she was the eldest.All preceded her in death.
Survived by sons Mick (Kathy), Terry (Cindy), Matt, daughter Liz Beckett (Bill), grandchildren Nicholas Jardine (Heather), Patrick Jardine (Ryann), Sara Sullivan and MacKenzie Sullivan along with 2 great-grandchildren, Carter Jardine and Haizley Mitchell.Betty was ready to go home to be with the Lord and be reunited with her husband of 41 years, John and their first born child, Timothy, both of whom preceded her in death.
As a young girl, she loved horses, walking in the woods, and going to the movies.Her first job at 13 was as a "candy striper" carrying dinner trays to hospital patients.She held many jobs over the years, however her favorite was working at Russell Stover candies as a young woman in her 20's while living at the YWCA. Those were her "good ole days".In her later years she enjoyed attending church, reading, watching tv, crochet, holidays (especially Christmas), travel, shopping and a little casino gambling.Most of all, she loved spending time with her kids and grandkids.
The family wishes to thank Diana, who was a very special friend to mom who cared for and looked after her.
