Beverly Ann Couture

Beverly Ann Couture (nee Hofkes) passed away on the evening of Monday, February 27, 2023, at the age of 93 years.

Bev was preceded in death by her husband Paul; daughter Paula; sons Joseph (infant) and Jeff; and siblings Dee and Dick.

She is survived by daughters Pam (Pat) Traynor and Trish (Tony) Buechler; daughter-in-law Jane Couture; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.

Bev grew up in Boyd, Wisconsin; a town of about 600 people, mostly made up of her relatives.  After graduating from Boyd High School she moved to Chippewa Falls to go to beauty school.

While walking home from school one day she saw a guy who would forever change her life.  Paul was painting a house and also spotted her, it was love at first sight.  They were married a year later and began a wonderful life.  Paul became a salesman and they moved quite a bit those first few years but in 1962 they settled in Ralston and knew they had found a perfect place to live.  Bev was a homemaker but also had a multitude of friends and many activities that she continued well into her 70’s and 80’s.

Between golf, bowling, poker club, dinner bridge, aquacise, ladies bridge, and of course the Legion, Bev was always on the go.  In the early years it was many couples that made up her circle but as time went on it became the “ladies” and the “widow’s corner” at the Legion.  Through it all, her “sister” Donna Retzlaff was by her side in good times and in bad.

Bev had a wonderful faith-filled life even with the tragedies she encountered.  Even though she lost Paul and 3 children, she never lost her faith that God had a plan for her and when the time was right she would be reunited with all in Heaven.  She always said, “don’t cry when I go, I had a wonderful life, I just wish God would hurry up and get me!”

Your long earthly journey is now over and it's time to enjoy a glorious eternity in Heaven!
