Bev grew up on a farm near Attica, Iowa without running water or electricity. Bev graduated High School from Attica Consolidated Schools in 1949 (1 of 15 in her graduating class). Her first job after graduation was at the Betty Crocker Cook Book factory in Des Moines, IA. Her first accounting job was at Firestone in Des Moines. Bev met Howard at a Methodist Church in Des Moines. They attended the same church group. Bev married Howard on June 1st, 1951 and lived on a farm just outside of Des Moines. In 1953 Bev and Howard moved to a house in north Des Moines. All three boys were born in Iowa where they lived until moving to Ralston, NE in 1973. Bev continued as a book keeper/accounting at several companies until she retired.

She was extremely active in Trinity United Methodist Church, Ralston Senior Center, and the Ralston community. Bev was president of the Ralston Senior Center until they had to find someone else to take over. In 2020 Bev had to stop physically going to Trinity United Methodist Church and Ralston Senior Center. Bev never missed a church service and watched the live broadcast every Sunday. Bev loved camping and seeing new places. She liked to travel and visit friends and relatives all over the country. She was a great cook and baker; experimenting and tweaking recipes until they were just right. She had an extensive recipe library.

Bev was very active in golf, bowling, and Tai Chi. Her love for gardening kept her very busy and her yard and gardens beautiful.

Bev will be missed by all those who met her and got to spend some time with her.
