Carl L. Poteet

Carl was born in Omaha Nebraska to Leroy and Evelyn Poteet and was the youngest of 6 children.  He attended schools in the country, in Ashland, and in Omaha.  He acquired his GED in 1980.

Carl met his soulmate Diana in 1978.  It was love at first sight.  They married on October 17, 1981 and just celebrated 42 wonderful years of marriage.  Together, they welcomed Jacob on March 22, 1987 and Alyson on January 22, 1990.

Carl worked many jobs over the years, predominantly at the Sarpy County Courthouse and MUD, from which he retired.

Carl had a passion for motorsports; motorcycles, hot rods, go karts, and anything that went fast.

He loved to travel, including camping, fishing, motorcycle trips with the guys, cruises, and many family vacations.

Carl was an extremely hard worker and he liked to keep busy.  He could do anything for anyone, including building decks and remodeling bathrooms.  When Carl got sick, he slowed down but never gave up.  He continued to mow grass and grind stumps.

Carl loved his Christian faith and his family.  He will be missed by so many.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents Leroy Poteet and Evelyn Poteet Slaughter, sister Judy Poteet and brother Henry Poteet.

Carl is survived by his wife, Diana Poteet; son, Jake  (Becca) Poteet; daughter, Alyson (Andrew) Jensen; brothers, Butch (Donna) Poteet; Marlene (Bob) Vlcan; Ted (Deb) Poteet and many family members and friends.
