Carmelita Gertrude Minardi

November 16, 1936 — December 6, 2015

age 79 years, of Omaha, Nebraska. Carmelita lived life on her own terms; more often than not, faced with hardships. Carmelita could see the best in humanity, exhibited kindness for animals and a passionate joy for gardening. Perhaps, the happiest ten years of her life was served with Metro Area Transit. Preceded in death by her parents George and Julia Sorrell; husband Samuel Minardi II; sister Delores Williams She is survived by her sisters Rosemary Boland and Marjorie Kantor; children Cynthia Bolte, Karen Marengi, Julia Coenen, Sam, Nicholas, Michael, Rhonda and Frances Minardi; in addition eighteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. At Carmelitas request, a private memorial event will be held for family members. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to God for bestowing upon them an inspirational mother. Our thankfulness goes to the Josie Harper Hospice House. In lieu of flowers or cards, please forward your gifts to the Nebraska Humane Society.
