Charles (Chuck) Berryman, Jr. was born January 2, 1940, in Cozad, Nebraska, to Charles Sr. and Joyce (Webster) Berryman. He passed at Hillcrest Country Estate Cottages in Papillion.
Chuck attended school in Cozad and graduated in 1958. He then attended college at Parks School of Business in Denver Colorado, and continued his education in banking school at Indiana University and University of Colorado, Boulder.
He found the love of his life, Connie Bowden, in Cozad, and the two were married in 1968. They made their home in Cozad and were blessed with two children. The couple moved to Chadron in 1991, where Chuck continued his banking career. Grandchildren drew them to Sarpy County for retirement.
Chuck spent his entire career in the banking industry, working at First Federal of Cozad, Commercial Federal, Cozad State Bank, and First National Bank of Chadron. During that time he also served on the Cozad Parks & Recreation Advisory Board, the Cozad City Council, the Chadron State College Foundation board of directors, was president of the Nebraska Savings & Loan Association, and was also very active in Jaycees, Rotary International and his churches serving on the Wildewood Christian Church Missions board, led bible studies, and delivered communion to shut-ins.
In his later years, he enjoyed singing with the Sarpy Serenaders, playing cribbage, working with stained glass, and spending time in Canada with good friends during their annual fishing trip. He always looked forward to a meal and a card game with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Connie, his children Scott and Susan (Pat) Yarusso, and 5 grandchildren: Hannah, Charlie, Patrick, Will, and Jaimie, along with his sister Kay Benge; sister-in-law Carol Berryman. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Rodney; brother-in-law Gary Benge.
