Charles "Charlie" Trojan

November 3, 1921 — March 27, 2014

Charlie was born at Custer County, Sargent, Nebraska to Joseph and Carolina (Kriz) Trojan. He served in WWII from February 1943 to November 1945 and saw combat in the Naples-Foggia, Rome-Arno, North Apennines, and Po Valley campaigns. Charlie married Marie A. Masek on February 3, 1952 in Papillion, Nebraska. They had one son, Gregory Charles.He is preceded in death by his wife and son; brothers Otto, Joseph Jr., Edward, Emil, Leonard, and Frank; sisters Camilla Pavel and Helen at birth.Survived by his sister Minnie Krul - Angora, NE; brother Eldon Trojan - Comstock, NE;daughter-in-law Roslyn Trojan - Colorado Springs, CO.Charlie is much loved and missed by his nieces and nephewsof the Trojan and Masek families and by his many friends. The Trojan family is particularly grateful to his long time friend Gloria Prchal and her family for the many kindnesses and support shown to Charles in his later years.Visitation Friday, April 4th, after 5:00 p.m. with Vigil Service 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral Saturday, April 5th, 9:45 a.m. Bethany Chapel toSt. Joseph Catholic Church (17th and Center Streets) for 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial.Interment Saint John Cemetery. Military honors by Amerian Legion Post 1 Honor Guard.
