Col. William Hill

July 30, 1936 — April 9, 2019

Hill—William C., Lt Col U.S.A.F (Ret), age 82 of Ralston, Nebraska passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 9th at home.

He was born on July 30, 1936, in Homestead, Pennsylvania to the late William B. and Olivia (Freidel) Hill. After completing one year of college at the University of Virginia, Bill found thoughts of flying in the Air Force more appealing than academic life.He enlisted and joined the air cadet program in 1955 and upon successful completion of the rigorous program was commissioned a 2LT and earned his wings as part of Class 58B.

Bill met and married his first wife Pat and together they had three children; Lauren, Lisa, and Bill.

He served his country for almost 30 years,(mostly with the Strategic Air Command (SAC), earning numerous awards including several Meritorious Service medals and the Distinguished Flying Cross for his combat service in Vietnam, to name only a few, retiring in 1985 and commencing a second career as a manager with Northrop Grumman.

In 1994 Bill married his second wife Pat, to whom he was still married at the time of his death.

Survivors include his wife Pat Collins-Hill (Collins), daughters Lauren Kintner (Hill) and husband Bill Kintner, Lisa Peterson (Hill) and her husband Chris Peterson, and son William J. Hill and wife Becca Thompson. Grandchildren are Alexa Layman (Wilson) and her husband Gage Layman and Taylor Wilson. Bill's brothers are Terry Hill and his wife Georgia R. and Jonathan and his husband Robert Hall.Bill's niece is Holly Hill.
