Dick was born and raised in Omaha, the son of William and Elizabeth (Bowley) Richt. He proudly served his country in the Navy during the Korean War. Later, he worked his way up to become manager of Astro Building.
Dick was preceded in death by his first wife Barbara, second wife Ann, and son Jeff.
He is survived by sons Mike (Dasie), Rick (Brenda), and Russ (Kris); daughters Becky Bolubasz, Penney Summers, and Shelly (Mike) Bullis; step-daughters Angela (Phil) Hopkins, Kathy (Roger) Drews, and Sandra Baumgarner; 12 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; special friend Eva; and many other friends and family
