Doan Rcom Hearn

Doan Rcom Hearn passed away at home on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at the age of 55 years.

Doan was born in Pleiku, Vietnam, on April 17th 1968. He came to America in 1974 at the age of 6 with his parents Michael and Hlok Hearn. They lived in Council Bluffs, Iowa, then later moved to  La Vista, Nebraska with his two siblings. He graduated from Papillon-La Vista High School in 1987 and went on to work at Ballantyne of Omaha as a machinist for 9 years, and later Hy-Vee for the last 20 years.

Doan is preceded in death by his father Michael Hearn.

He is survived by his two children Jaiden (Lyndsay Hearn) and Leah Hearn (fiancé Jarion Beets); 4 grandchildren; Samuele, Rylee, Reid, Nova with a fifth grandchild on the way; his mother, Hlok Hearn and step-father Andrew Kolakowski; and siblings Raymond  Hearn and Elizabeth Hearn (fiance Patrick Huff ) along with many beloved nieces and nephews.

Doan enjoyed gathering with loved ones around a bonfire, grilling up his crowd-pleasing drumsticks, and making his highly sought-after hot sauce and beef jerky to share with his family and friends. He loved comedy, music, karaoke, and sky diving. Doan was humble, loving, kind, generous, and loved to make people laugh. He found joy and meaning in the simple things in life. Above all else, Doan was a family man who valued spending time with his family. He was incredibly loved and will be terribly missed.
