age 85, of Omaha, died April 5, 2007 at her residence at Remington Heights in Omaha. She was born in Harrison County, IA on December 1, 1921 to Carl and Mildred Doyle Hansen. She graduated from Mo Valley High School and the University of Omaha with a Bachelor of Science Degree. Mrs. Hirst spent most of her adult life as a teacher in numerous schools including Loveland, Magnolia, Mo. Valley, and LoMa, IA. She will long be remembered for her sponsorship of the award winning Pep Club at Mo. Valley High School. She was an active member of Mo. Valley Hospital Auxiliary, St. Patricks Altar Society, Retired Teachers, and as a Docent for the Harrison County Welcome Center. She was a life-long member of St. Patricks Catholic Church. The Hirsts were life-long residents of Mo. Valley until four years ago when they moved to Remington Heights in Omaha, NE. Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband Rex, and her parents, and sister Margaret Peterson. Survivors include two daughters Sharon Hirst Moorman and her husband Thomas, Carole Hirst Janes and her husband Robert, all of Omaha. Grandchildren include: Kathryn Moorman Dinkel and husband Kevin, of Omaha, Steven Moorman and wife, Debra, of Dexter, MI, Christopher Huelshorst and friend Ames Hall, of Kansas City, MO, Gayle Moorman Erickson and husband Martin, of Omaha, Dean Moorman of Omaha, Jennifer Huelshorst Frazier and husband, Shane, of Omaha; two step-grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and five step great grandchildren; sister Frances Stirtz, of Mo. Valley; brothers Darrell Hansen, of Woodbine, IA and Marion Hansen, of Ft. Morgan, CO. Visitation with the family will be at 5pm on Monday, April 9th with a Wake Service at 7pm at Hennessey-Aman Funeral Home in Mo. Valley, IA. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11am, Tuesday, April 10th at St. Patricks Catholic Church in Mo. Valley, IA. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Mo. Valley.
