Earl Francis McGeorge, 89, passed away on March 20, 2024, in Georgetown, TX. Earl was born on June 8, 1934, in Omaha, Nebraska to Alvin McGeorge and Lillian Bartlett. Earl lived and went to school in Omaha, joined the Navy at 16, and served during the Korean War. When he left the Navy, he returned to Omaha to start his career as a truck driver. He worked for various carriers, eventually retiring with Bee Line Logistics. Earl was best known for his love of travel and his dogs. Earl married JoAnna Fischman in Omaha, NE in 1980. After they retired, they moved to Tucson, AZ where they lived for over 30 years. During that time Earl and JoAnna traveled with their dogs to 48 of the 50 states in their RV. They would often take along their grandkids and later great grandkids with them on their adventures. This became one of the fondest memories for them and their families. Toward the end of his life, Earl and JoAnna moved to Georgetown, TX to be near family. During his time living in Georgetown, Earl had the honor of being included in an “Honor Flight” trip to Washington DC to visit the war memorials in our nation’s capital in November of 2022. Earl was also thrilled to be taken for a “Dream Flight” at Georgetown Airport in November of 2023. The Dream Flights organization honors military veterans and seniors with the adventure of a lifetime: a flight in a Boeing Stearman biplane. Earl was preceded in death by his father Alvin McGeorge, his mother Lillian Bartlett, his stepbrother Jerry and his daughter Wanda. He is survived by his sisters Beverly, Jackie; Chris, Dee, and Darlene; his daughter Connie; and his four stepchildren David, Doris, Leonard, and Craig. Earl and JoAnna had no children together but shared their lives with multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A memorial service for Earl Francis McGeorge will be held on Saturday June 8th 2024 (on what would have been his 90th birthday). The service will be at 2 pm in the Activities Room at The Oaks Gracious Retirement Living, 3720 Williams Dr, Georgetown, TX 78628. Burial TBD: Westlawn-Hillcrest Memorial Park in Omaha, NE.
