Florence was born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1928 to Thomas and Anna (Johnston) Mackie. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Wilber Smith; son Brian; daughters Nancy and Donna; and sister Joan.
She is survived by daughter Diane; son Wayne; sister Mary Matthies; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild.
