Frances Marie Fisher

Frances Marie Fisher passed away peacefully on Monday, July 8, 2024. Frances was born January 16, 1948, to her parents Sebastino and Frances Cortese. She was the oldest of four children – her brother James and sisters Marilyn and Patricia. Born and raised in Omaha, Frances graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1966.

Frances and her husband of 53 years, Rick, raised three children: their oldest son, Jeff, and twin daughters, Kim and Lisa. She was a proud grandmother of three grandsons, Drew, Caleb, and Nathan. Frances worked for nearly 30 years in the Papillion LaVista School District as a teacher’s aide, many of which were spent working with special needs students.

Frances’ life revolved around her family, and as an Italian, that often meant extended family gatherings. Whether it was Sunday afternoons and holidays at her parents’ long-time home or Friday nights with Kim (husband Matt) and Lisa (partner Wayde). Sunday afternoons were reserved for the Farmhouse Restaurant, where Frances and Rick caught up on family happenings with Patricia, Marilyn, and Frances’ brother-in-law, Ron. She was a caring aunt to her nieces and nephews Laurie (husband Dave), Scott, Brad (wife Lyndsey), and Jenny (husband Paul). Frances will be remembered for her carefree nature, steady stubbornness, and fun-loving attitude. She will be loved, missed, and never forgotten.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Nebraska Humane Society or the American Diabetes Association.
