Georgia K. Redding was born August 24, 1928 in Grand Island, NE to George J. Stauss and Nora Fay (Platt) Stauss. She married Barney Dunning on June 23, 1951 and through this union they had 11 children. After the sudden death of Barney on December 8, 1967, she later met the love of her life Lyle "Charlie" Redding and was united in marriage on November 3, 1969.

Georgia was a devoted wife and mother of 11 children, 22 grandchildren, and great-grandmother to 39. She dedicated her whole life to serving her family, friends, community, and church. She was a Christian woman and role model to all who knew her. Anyone who knew Georgia loved and respected her. She spent countless hours canning, cooking, and attending sporting events. Georgia was there for all who needed an ear or advice. She was a lighthouse during many storms.

She served many years on the Decatur School Board; also serving as president. She taught EMT classes and Quick Books at the community college. Georgia was the first woman to serve on the Decatur Fire and Rescue Dept; serving 25+ years and 20+ years as an EMT. On top of it all, she also owned and managed Barney's Bar for many years.

Georgia was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Barney, 3 brothers-in-law, and 3 sisters-in-law.

She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Charlie; 11 children, Michaela (Ron) Brewer, Georgann Dunning, Jack (Linda) Dunning, Tom Dunning, Kim (Don) Bray, Sean Dunning, Terry (Mike) Stutzman, Jerry (Pam) Dunning, Marie (Alan) Snow, Martie Dunning, Kevin (Machele) Dunning; 61 grand and great-grandchildren; sisters Marie Lyons (Dillard Milligan), Martie Pieper; 3 sisters-in-law; special friends Norma Jean, Erma, Kathy, and extended family and friends.
