Gerald V. Allen

Gerald “Jerry” Allen, 83 passed away on March 12, 2025, in Omaha, Nebraska. Born on February 20, 1942, in Lincoln, Nebraska, Jerry lived a life marked by curiosity, humor, and dedication to family.

Jerry graduated from Lincoln High School before continuing his education at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He later built a career with the United States Post Office before retiring in 1992 and transitioning into tax preparation work at H & R Block until 2014. His professional life reflected his strong work ethic and commitment to serving others.

Gerald was preceded in death by his parents Gerald and Evelyn Allen.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Marcia Allen; children Carrie (Jason) Schmit and Christopher Allen; grandchildren Aubrey and Sam Schmit, Layla, Piper, and Simone Allen; sisters Judith (Gene) Rickard and Elizabeth Allen; and many more family and friends.

Beyond his family life and career, Jerry was known for his love of poker, fishing, Husker athletics, and affection for dogs, including his beloved Dean. His sharp wit, dry humor, and inquisitive nature crafted a life worth celebrating and fond memories for so many.
