Holly Jean Senrick (Smith) born December 4, 1975 in Seward, Nebraska died on February 25, 2025 in Omaha, Nebraska. She was preceded in death by parents Elmer Charlie Smith and Bonnie Lou Smith nee Brehe, and brother Kelly, and is survived by husband Charles and son Charlie, nephews Christian, Aiden and Atom, many family, and friends.
Holly’s delightful blend of sarcasm and humility connected her with others and created a sense of comfort. She had a way of being both strong and approachable.
Holly's compassion was evident from a young age. As a child, she would often walk by the local nursing home, not just passing by, but stopping to interact with the residents, sharing smiles and offering a listening ear. This early display of empathy blossomed into a lifelong commitment to caring for others. Graduating from Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska in 1998 with a degree in Behavioral Science, she had a career and a passion in caring for elders. She was a devoted wife and mother. She invested in friendships, understanding what mattered to her friends and cheerleading for them.
She expressed her soul through music and singing. This love of music was shared by both Holly and her mother Bonnie and brought them great joy. She was a vibrant addition to the Sweet Adelines singing group and she cherished their connection to the community. She enjoyed impromptu car concerts with her son and nephews. She entertained and her singing was part of many family and friend’s celebrations.
Holly was gentle and had a deep, pure faith rooted in love. Even during her own illness, Holly's strength and compassion shone brightly. She found the capacity to offer comfort and support to others. It was well with her soul.
