Jack Schu

Jack Schu passed away at home on the morning of Thursday, August 1, 2024, at the age of 74 years.

Jack was born and raised in South Omaha, Nebraska, by his mother and father, Donna and Al Carmicheal. As the oldest of 9 children there was rarely a dull moment growing up in that household.  He spent most of his adult life in the car business as a sales manager, retiring from O’Daniel Honda.

Jack shared 2 children, Morgan and Ryan, with ex- wife, Margaret Schu. If you knew Jack, you knew his daughters were the light of his life. He never missed an opportunity to brag about them.

Jack loved all things sports-related, his vast knowledge of statistics and facts was extremely impressive. His family and friends were a huge part of his life, he would always say he was surrounded by the best friends anyone could ask for. If he wasn’t home watching old westerns, he was with his Brownies family playing pool, shuffleboard, or just hanging with the people he loved.

Jack was preceded in death by his mother, Donna Carmicheal; nephews Christian, AJ, Douglas, and Jake; niece Cheryl.

He is survived by his father, Al Carmicheal; sisters Gail Runyan and Renee (Rich) Fruge; brothers Terry (Linda) Chizek, David (Diane) Carmicheal, Doug (Cathy) Carmicheal, Barney Carmicheal, Lance (Kym) Carmicheal, and Danny (Michelle) Carmicheal; children Ryan (Trey) Sanders and Morgan Schu; ex-wife Margaret Schu; grandchildren Nakia, Tayonna, Jaden, Leyna, Trey, Kiera, and Isaiah; and many nieces, nephews, and their children.
