James was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Ann Harvat. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years Patricia Harvat; children William (Tiffany) Harvat, Michael Harvat, and Michelle (Taylor) Woodward; grandchildren Jude and Harrison "Harry" Harvat, Eliana and Kaden Woodward; sister Jan (Rick) Limpach; and many more family and friends. Jim served in the Navy for six years on the U.S.S. Lexington. He had a long career working as a telecommunications technician. He was an expert handyman, taking on many projects around the home, especially in retirement. Jim was a devoted son, a loving brother, a faithful husband, a dedicated father, and the best grandpa. He was a talented musician who imparted his love of music to his children, and he often shared his talents at church. He also made many lifelong friends playing in bands like Thee Misfits, Velvet Hammer, Triangle, and Happy Together. He loved NASCAR, and he spent countless hours building and modifying slot cars for racing with his friends.
