Our hearts were overwhelmed with grief when JoAnn Gasper took flight to her predestined heavenly home. JoAnn had many roles and names. Wife (Honey-Bunny), Sister, Mom, Grammy, Gigi, Aunt, Friend & Jo.
Ron and JoAnn share a 68 year marriage and union of love which will never cease. They began life together in the cold states of Minnesota and Alaska but kept the warmth and their flame of love burning. Through their love, they raised four children and loved and supported them always. Their children married and gave them 13 Grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Her love as Grammy extends far beyond just family. JoAnn embraced Motherhood and being Grammy/Gigi. She always desired us to be near. Fingerprints were like artwork on all the glass in her home.
Family life and love are JoAnn’s treasures. There wasn’t a quilt too challenging, a tear unable to mend, a plant she couldn’t revive, a tear she couldn’t dry & so much more. Her open heart also meant an open home. She welcomed all for visits, short or extended stays, and always just happened to have extra food. This is how she came alongside family, friends, and all who were graced with her presence.
JoAnn served all who came into her life from a very young age. She enjoyed baking, quilting, and gardening which she eagerly shared with others.
Community Outreach:
Volunteered at the hospital weekly and served at church well into her eighties.
Made masks for the pandemic.
Prepared fruitcakes for fundraisers.
Consistently prayed for others.
There wasn't a time she wasn't supporting or loving others. She lived selflessly and desired nothing but family, love, and time.
JoAnn’s Love will shine through all who knew her.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents Theodore Sakalosky and Ann Moss (Sakalosky); brother James Sakalosky.
