age 84, Omaha Preceded in death by parents Stanley and Jennie Michalak,brother Joseph, sisters Stacia Tatara, Lorraine Bartunek, Agnes Savatovic, Joan A. Handzlik survived by many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, and cousins. Msgr. Michalak was ordained on May 19, 1951 in Omaha. His assignments as associate pastor included the following parishes: St. Margaret Mary - Omaha, St. Boniface - Elgin, and St. Stanislaus - Omaha. His assignments as pastor included the following parishes: St. Stanislaus - Omaha, St. Patrick - Tekamah and Holy Family - Decatur, and St. Francis Assisi - Omaha. In 1997, Msgr. Michalak retired. Msgr. Michalak was named a Prelate of Honor to Pope John Paul II in 2001. Interment St. John Cemetery. Memorials requested to St. Stanislaus Church.
