Joyce was born Friday, February 17, 1933 in Dunlap, Iowa.She graduated high school in 1950 and moved to Omaha shortly thereafter. She met the love of her life, Thomas Martin in 1979.They were inseparable from that moment on.She retired from Nashua Corporation after 20+ years of service.After retirement, one of her greatest pleasures was going to garage sales with Tom, her cousin Milton Larson and his wife, Lois.She also enjoyed creating silk flower arrangements and was a lover of cats.Unable to bring home every cat or kitten she met, she filled her home with all the cat themed decor and figurines she could get her hands on.She thoroughly enjoyed time spent with family and friends and was an active member of her church until her health would not allow.Joyce loved her family with all her heart and leaves behind a legacy of kindness, warmth, love and compassion.
Joyce is preceded in death by her parents Oscar and Elma Larson and sons Michael Eckermann and Thomas Eckermann.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Thomas Martin; children Terri Greer, Debra (Gerry) Hilde, Brian Martin, Susan Martin, and Kelly Martin; grandchildren Cori (Dave), Chad (Kelly), Loraine, Michael, Kevin, Kristin (Tony), Chelsea, Dana (Brett), Elana, Taylor, and Trent; great-grandchildren Bobbi (Ted), Zoe, Eric, Aiden, Braxton, Logan, Nainoa, Nora, Audrey, Preston, and Grayson; great-great-grandchild Jameson, cousin Milton (Lois) and many cherished friends.
