Kathleen M. Sparks

Kathy was born in Omaha on February 17, 1946 to LeRoy and Evelyn Stern.  She was raised in South Omaha and attended St. Peter and Paul Elementary School and Ryan High School.  She studied secretarial sciences at Omaha Business School.  Then worked at Northwestern Bell until she married her high school sweetheart, James Sparks in 1969. Jim and Kathy raised three daughters and became involved volunteering and attending Mary Our Queen Catholic Church. Kathy worked as a Medical Records Clerk at Bergan Mercy Hospital for almost 40 years.

She spent her retirement years volunteering at Papillion Manor, painting the resident’s nails and helping them play bingo every week.  She also enjoyed spending time cross stitching, collecting angel statues, purchasing gifts and spending time at church with friends.  We will miss her daily texts and kindness.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents Leroy and Evelyn Stern; sister Janet Greenlee; nephew Jeffrey Morrison.

She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years James Sparks; daughters Kolleen Hoffman, Kelley (Tom) Maxwell, and Kristine Sparks; grandchildren Adrian, Andrew (Emily Shannon), and Arabella Hoffman, Sidney and Luke Maxwell; and many more family and friends.
