Kenneth "Ken" Stanton was born November 28, 1935 to Henry A and Elda May (Henry) Stanton in Denver, Missouri. Ken passed away at his home on December 11, 2022.
Ken moved with his family from Kansas City, MO to Omaha in 1973 where he worked in the transportation department at Conagra. Ken retired in 1986 and continued to work in the transportation industry for another fourteen years during his semi-retirement.
Ken enjoyed fast-pitch softball, fishing and hunting in his younger days. He was an avid golfer and loved the Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals. Ken was a ranger at Johnny Goodman golf course for the last twenty years. He was an active member of St. Gerald's Catholic Church, participating in many activities and groups, including serving as an usher, assisting with funeral luncheons and volunteering many years with the St. Vincent de Paul Society, where he assisted others in need. On May 30, 2014 Ken & Paula were awarded the Knights of Aksarben Foundation & Omaha World Herald's Good Neighbor Citation for unselfish and charitable deeds beyond the field of personal gain or welfare, exemplifying the good neighbor spirit of the midwest.
Ken was loved by many family and friends, including his wife of 61-years, Paula. He is survived by his children, Tom (Diane), Jim, Peggy (Brad Scott), granddaughters Laura (Kevin) Herron and Becki (Andrew) McLaughlin, great-grandchildren Ava and Landon McLaughlin, brother-in-law John (Marcia) Noone, nieces, nephews and many friends.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Elda Stanton and two brothers, Ross and David Stanton.
Memorials may be made to the Fr. Foster Endowment Fund or in care of his family.
