A 1952 graduate of Ashland High School he met and married his fellow classmate and sweetheart Norma Jean (Johnson) Kuhlman in 1955.They celebrated 52 years of marriage before her passing in 2006 due to cancer.After a 4 year military career in Washington DC and Norma working at the Pentagon they returned to make their home in Papillion.
You could never take the country out of Kenny as after building a brand new home in Papillion it was only a few years before they traded homes for an old farm house and 20 acres that became a "fixer upper" for nearly 20 years.Dad loved the story that the first week they moved to the farm that our mother was vacuuming and running the clothes dryer at the same time and blew the electrical transformer off the pole which was the beginning of the "fixer upper" episode that was constant for 20 years.On Ken's 52nd birthday they moved into their brand new home that they designed and built with a view like no other for Sarpy County which Ken called home for over 30 years.Ken retired to a life of fishing in his back yard and that was his passion.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Maggie Kuhlman; wife Norma; brother Dale; sisters Cleora Fletcher and Donna Kuhn.
Survived by children Kurt and Gayle Kuhlman of Bennington, Doug and Nicole Kuhlman of Overland Park, KS, and Rhonda and Scott Podany of Omaha; Grandchildren Alex, Gage and Mason Podany and Alyssa and Lindsey Kuhlman; Sister Darlene Frans of Omaha.
