Lawrence "Joe" Beardsley

Lawrence “Joe” Beardsley Jr. was born June 10, 1939 to Cecilia and Lawrence Beardsley Sr. in Salina, KS, and lived to be 84 years old.  He worked hard in his life to support his family as a truck driver for over 30 years at Graves Truck Line, ANR Freight, and Consolidated Freightways and retired at the age of 55 as a proud Teamster.

Joe enjoyed travels with his wife, Patricia, whom he was married to for almost 62 years.  They had 4 children, 6 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.

He loved to golf, read, getting out on the boat, and attend his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s activities.  He also supported us in any way he could in addition to supporting others on their AA journey for over 26 years.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia (Martin) Beardsley; daughters, Denise (Dean) Hatcher, Rogene Smith, Trish (Brian) Battaglia; grandchildren, Renee (Josh) Ashwood, Todd (Jenny) Hatcher, Brittney (Shane) Marshall, Hailey (Jacob) Falk, Jake and Aero Battaglia, and his great-grandchildren.  Sisters, Judy Dickens of Tulsa, OK, Ann (Larry) Colton of Bradenton, FL, and Kaye (Bob) Thomann of Salina, KS; brother, John Robert (JR) Beardsley of Tulsa, OK, and sisters-in-law, Joan Woods-Smith of Wichita, KS, Donna Martin of Sedgwick, KS, Mary (Keith) Bremerman of Salina, KS and a bunch of nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecilia and Lawrence Beardsley Sr., his only son, Kevin Beardsley, his son-in-law, Bob Smith, and many relatives who have gone before him.

In lieu of flowers, the Beardsley family has designated memorials be directed to Alzheimer’s Association, American Cancer Society, or Siena Frances House in Omaha.
