Leonard Craig Morgan, 74, of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away on October 2, 2022, surrounded by family and friends. He was born to parents Leonard and Mary Morgan, on November 16, 1947 in Culver City, California, Leonard graduated from Antelope Valley High Class of 1966. Leonard joined the United States Air Force in December of 1967 during the Vietnam era and was a Medic. Later attended Mount Sant Antonio College in Walnut, CA for Commercial Arts Class of 1973. Lenoard’s Occupations included: Shoe Salesman, Duplicator Repairman, Security Officer, Customer Service Rep, Water Meter Shop Foreman, Water System Manager, Meter Reader, Production Manager, Shipping and Receiving Manager, Production Manager, Customer Service Director, Multi-Media Director and a Facility Manager.Twenty years of Management both in the private sector and municipalities; Leonard was also an ordained non denominational minister and performed marriages over the years; the first couple he married 30 years ago are still happily married (Bruce and Kathy Pagano). Hobbies in his life were, cooking, costume and makeup design, painting, drawing, comic books, webdesign and short stories. Leonard often referred to himself as “The Renaissance Man”. Leonard had been drawing since he was 6 years old. Comic Books have always been his favorite! Leonard attended the Art School at Mount San Antonio College. Where he painted everything from nudes to dogs, dragsters to monsters and at one point stated “I have sold my soul to the commercial world by illustrating manuals and technical layouts. I have been paid well; yet never have I become famous.” Leonard was raised mainly in the city of Lancaster California, where he ran wild with a bunch of guys (David Shepherd, Clifford Degener, and Steve Martin). He still maintained contact with David Shepherd over the years; who he felt was more like a brother than a friend! He married his first wife (Susan Lee Stidham). They had their daughter Stacy and stayed married for almost 20 years. Then he married Carolyn Denise Ewing, in Nashville. Were married for 8 years. In 1999, while married to Carolyn; Leonard ran for Mayor in Nashville, Tennessee His mission statement for the campaign was “It is time to put someone in office that is not part of the political machine. Someone that has been at the bottom and worked his way up. Someone that understands the needs of all the people and not just a few.” Words he lived by through his life. In 2001 found the love of his life Hope Morgan (Braden); who survives him. Leonard and Hope were happily married for 21 years. Leonard is also survived by daughter Stacy Morgan-White (William) grandchildren Morgan and Marshall White , son Robert Beplate, Step-children Terra Hamlin (Joshua), Ciara Handlos (Adam) grandchildren Berkley, Trent and Alice Handls, and Aurora Braden. And numerous nieces, nephews and close friends. Leonard was predeceased by his parents Leonard and Mary Morgan, his sisters Carrie (Cliff July) and Linda Morgan (Donald Ballew) and brothers Paul and James Morgan. The memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at 11 AM to 4 PM . at Vala’s Pumpkin Patch, 12102 S. 180th Street, Gretna, NE 68028.
