Lorene (Spethman) Klassen

Lorene Marie Spethman Klassen, or “Renie,” was born on November 7, 1951 in Omaha, Nebraska to Frederick and Dorothy Spethman, and passed into eternal life on Monday, September 19, 2022 at Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 70 years.

Lorene attended Papillion Public Schools; graduating in 1969.  She attended Wayne State College for one year.

In the spring of 1970, Lorene, along with Linda and Lois, spent the summer working in Juneau, Alaska.  Lorene worked for Alaska Department of Labor.  At the end of summer, the three came back home.  Lorene and Lois returned to reside in Alaska while Lorene moved back to Nebraska in 1986.

Lorene and Kent were married on November 29, 1991, while they were visiting their good friends in San Antonio, Texas.

Lorene worked as a Claims Deputy for the Nebraska Department of Labor.  She also trained and served as a volunteer firefighter for the Papillion Volunteer Fire Department.

In her spare time, she enjoyed creating personalized greeting cards, scrapbooking, sewing, cross-stitching and beading.

Lorene was preceded in death by parents Frederick & Dorothy (Binko) Spethman; sister Linda Mickle; grandparents Joseph and Vilemina Binko and Herman and Clara Spethman

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband Kent; sons Daniel and Joshua (Maria); granddaughter Payton; sisters Lois Spethman, Louise (Dan) Greco, Lori Jo (Terry) Spethman Twiford, and Lisa Lee Spethman.
