age 88, Omaha, NE. Louis passed away peacefully at his home in Omaha surrounded by his family. He was born in Omaha on November 4, 1926 to John and Anna (Zezulak) Vacek. Lou served in the U.S. Army during WW II. He worked for LeRoy L. Wade and Son, a heavy hauling company for 30 years. Before he retired in 1983 he served as a foreman. Lou loved to garden especially vegetables, mostly tomatoes, radishes, and cucumbers. In his retirement, he spent many hours with family and friends fishing at his cabin on the Missouri River. Preceded in death by son Timothy; great grandson K.C.; parents John and Anna; sister Cecilia; brothers Bernard, Joseph, Frank, William, Henry, Robert and John; son-in-law Rick NelsonSurvived by beloved wife of 65 years Bernice (Kwiatkowski); children Louis Jr. (Janet) Vacek, Phyllis Nelson, Patty (Rick) Fenner; 9 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; sisters Ann Marie Vankat, Dorothy (Raymond) Zagozda. VISITATION Friday, February 20th, after 5:00 p.m. with Vigil Service 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, February 21st, 10:30 a.m. St. Stanislaus Catholic Church.
