Louise A. Greco

Louise Ann was born on September 13 th , 1957 in Omaha, Nebraska to Frederick and Dorothy Spethman. Louise was a lifelong resident of Papillion, Nebraska and took pride in that. She was one of the six “L” Spethman sisters and was affectionately known by her family as L4. She graduated in 1975 from Papillion High School and was one of the first all-state Nebraska high school volleyball players. She attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha and enjoyed four seasons playing volleyball for the Mavericks.

In 1980 she met Dan Greco while playing softball and the two were married on June 13, 1981. They welcomed four children during their marriage, Stephanie, Danielle, Bobby and Danny. Later they were blessed with 11 wonderful grandchildren.  In her younger years she worked for Pamida, then the City of Papillion where she eventually retired after 29 years. She was proud to serve her community. Some of her fondest memories were snow plowing, Papillion Days, providing candy to her co-workers and getting to know the residents of Papillion.

Louise loved being surrounded by her family. She was always behind the camera capturing as many moments as possible. She always supported her children and grandchildren, from attending sporting events, helping them with school projects or creating Halloween costumes.  In her spare time Louise loved to sew, craft, garden, baking, cooking, antiquing, going to the casino with her BSB and most importantly spending time with her family.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents Frederick and Dorothy Spethman; sisters Linda Mickle and Lorene Klassen; grandparents Joseph and Vilemina Binko, Herman and Clara Spethman; many aunts and uncles.  She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years Dan Greco; children Stephanie (John) Krebs, Danielle (Jacob) Stoltenberg, Bobby (Olivia) Greco and Danny (Jess) Greco; grandchildren Lilly and Ava Krebs, Wyatt, Stella and Maddox Stoltenberg, Clint, Cecilia and Finnegan Greco, Tripp, Brynn and Violet Greco; sisters Lois Spethman, Lori (Terry) Spethman Twiford, and Lisa Spethman; brother-in-laws Dennis Mickle and Kent
Klassen; and many more family and friends.
