Lucille Lorraine Grooms Sutton passed away on January 2, 2019, in Hammond, Louisiana, from complications of dementia. She was 87.

Lucille was born on February 2, 1931, in Nashua, New Hampshire, the daughter of the late Homer and Delia (Berube) Grooms.

After graduating high school, Lucille served in the Air Force during the Korean War.

While stationed at Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina, she met and married Ervin Ray "Jack" Sutton in January 1954. The couple had six children: David, Michael, Christine, Patricia, James, and Robert. Their marriage lasted for 25 years.

She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Bellevue College in 1985, and worked as a revenue agent at the Internal Revenue Service office in Omaha until her retirement in 1994.

Lucille was preceded in death by her youngest son, Robert, and her stepmother Gladys.

She is survived by her two brothers and their spouses, her five remaining children and their spouses, 18 grandchildren and their spouses and significant others, 20 great grandchildren and their spouses and significant others, two great great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, along with many dear and cherished friends.
