Margaret L. "Peggy" Shepherd

April 25, 1964 — November 4, 2018

Vincent Van Gogh once said, "Normality is a paved road, it is comfortable to walk on, but no flowers grow on it."Peggy lived her life amongst the flowers, never taking the paved road. Her vibrant creativity could be seen in every aspect of her life… from her personality to her wardrobe, from her artwork to her professional life. She had a smile and laugh that could brighten the darkest room. She had a heart of gold that is immeasurable.

"You have never really lived until you have done something for someone who can never repay you" -Mother Teresa, St. Teresa of Calcutta.

Peggy spent her entire professional life giving more than she received. She entered a profession that allowed her to utilize all of her strengths.A profession that allowed her to truly live.As her friend and colleague wrote, "Her dedication to her patients and to her profession will leave a legacy."

As a mother, Peggy was blessed with a beautiful daughter. She gave everything she had to give her daughter a beautiful life.

As a daughter, Peggy was blessed with two amazing parents, one of which, was waiting to welcome her home as she passed through the gates of Heaven. She blessed her parents with an inexhaustible amount of love and care.

As a sister (the youngest of the family), she was blessed with many older siblings. She blessed them with many laughs, good times, cold drinks, good food, beautiful Christmas decorations, and mostly… headaches. (Peggy could always appreciate a good sense of humor)

As an aunt, she was the best (don't tell any of the sisters I said that). She was always the "cool" aunt. Was never a day over 25 years old… or was it 26? She made Christmas morning unforgettable. She encouraged wild behavior, as well as creative thinking, and always wanted to have fun.Summers were spent by the pool, and winters were spent on the hill with a sled.I can only hope we gave her as many memories, as she gave us.

As a friend, she was trustworthy, loyal, and would give you the shirt off her back. Some of her best friends till this day, she met as a child… this shows her loyalty and dedication. She was the life of the party (I'm sure her friends could tell stories for days!)People fell in love with her the moment they met her and would become friends for life.

"For me, a landscape does not exist in its own right, since its appearance changes at every moment; but the surrounding atmosphere brings it to life - the light and the air which vary continually. For me, it is only the surrounding atmosphere which gives subjects their true value." -Claude Monet

Peggy was the atmosphere that brought the landscape to life.

Selfishly, we mourn.
Spiritually, we shall dance with joy, knowing she has been accepted into Heaven.
