Marguerite (Margie) Clair Urzendowski White, born in Omaha, Nebraska on December 20, 1940, the second daughter of Walter Julius Urzendowski and Agatha Barbara Krzemien Urzendowski. Margie was raised in Sheely Town near Hanscom Park. She graduated from Mercy High School in 1958 and married Gary W. White October 18, 1959, they divorced in 1972.
Margie’s work history included Orpheum Theatre; National Indemnity Insurance; White, Lipp, Simon & Powers Attorneys; Miller & Russell Attorneys; IBEW Local 1974; and Family Fare. Margie was honored as Legal Secretary of the Year in 1971 by the Omaha Legal Secretaries Association.
Her hobbies and interests included reading, playing cards, cooking and baking which she attributed to her Polish roots. Other interest included watching Dancing with the Stars, competitive ice-skating, The Voice, American Idol, and The Bachelor. Another passion of Margie’s was meeting people. She said, “People are like books, because they are filled with surprises and suspense.” Margie was known for her caring nature, warm smile, infectious laugh, and comforting hugs and kisses.
Margie is preceded in death by her parents, sister Jeanette (Janie) Majorek, brother-in-law Richard (Rich) Majorek, and special friend Gary Miller. Survived by 2 sons; Bart W. (Linda) White, and Mark E. White; 5 grandchildren; Andrea S. (Kevin) Thompson, Adam T. (Tracy) White, Heath B. (Megan) White, Larisa K. White and Alejandra S. Diaz Hinojos, 4 great-grandchildren; Allee S. White, Violet V. Thompson, Damian D. Thompson, and Jayden A. Garcia Jorge. She is also survived by her 4 loving sisters; Rose (Vern) Larson, Joanie (Butch Most) Hoffman, Theresa (Rick) Liedtke, and Kathleen (Peter) Nielsen, 31 nieces and nephews; along with countless other family, friends and loved ones.
