Marian Wiebelhaus

Marian Wiebelhaus was born April 6, 1936 to Frank and Kristina (Krutilek) Kubes  on a farm near Meadow Grove, NE.  She graduated from Battle Creek High School in 1953.  She then earned a Teachers Certificate at a junior college in Norfolk, NE and went on to teach for a year at one room school house.  She then worked for a finance company for a year in Norfolk before moving to Norwalk, CA.  She married Norman Wiebelhaus at St. Patrick’s Church in Battle Creek, NE on August 9, 1958.  She was a stay-at-home mother with five children, did some coaching for her children's sports, and was a para-teacher at G. Stanley Hall Elementary School in LaVista, NE.   She often accompanied her husband when he served as an EMHC. for St. Columbkille Catholic Church.  She served the R.C.I.A. team, St. Vincent de Paul Society Ministery and St. Columbkille Catholic Church funeral lunches.

Marian is survived by her children, Tony (Vicki of Des Moines), Marty of Lincoln, Renee (David Eiland of Colorado Springs), Jim (Diane) of Omaha, and Jeannie (Dan Parkison) of Omaha. Sister-in-law Joan Wiebelhaus of Fremont, NE, sister-in-law Elsie Wiebelhaus of Sioux Falls, SD.   She had sixteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Norman Wiebelhaus, brothers Frank, Jerome and Jim Kubes, sisters Marjorie Henn and Martha Gillespie.

Memorial may be directed to St. Columbkille Catholic Church or the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
