Marlene passed away Monday evening in the Josie Harper Hospice House with her family at her side. Marlene Lela Watson wan born in Omaha, Nebraska April 14, 1959 and was the daugher of Eugene and Sandra (Deal) Watson. She was baptized in the Lutheran faith, grew up in Omaha and graduated from Nebraska School for the Visually Handicapped in 1980. After high school she worked for Information Systems Inc. for several years. In 1996, Marlene moved from her parent's home to Roberts Manor, whereshe lived on the third floor and was very proud of her apartment. After many years at Roberts Manor, she moved to Southview Heights, an assisted living facility in Omaha and then to the Ashland Care Center in Ashland, Nebraska. Marlene was active in Omaha Association for the Blind and always enjoyed their meetings and dinners. She likeddoing craftwork and listening to music on the radio. Radio DJ's were some of her best friends, including Randy Mack, Rich Cassidy and T.J. Bell. She spent many many hours listening to country music and classic rock. Marlene also loved talking on the telephone and was friends with many healthcare professionals in the Omaha area, asshe called them every day tosay hi and just talk.Loving family members include her father Eugene "Doc"; siblings Rita and RobertBoetcher, Paula Watson all of Omaha,Robert and Courtney Watson of Bellport, New York, and Ronald Watson of Omaha; nephews and nieces Samuel (Laura), Jordan, great niece Lila, Daniel (Marissa), Bryan, Nikki (Adam), great nephew Scotty, Rebecca, Misty, Kayla, Michael, and Jayden, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Marlene is preceded in death by her grandparents, mother Sandra and nephew Joshua.Visitation Thursday, August 20th, 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral Service Friday, August 21st, 11:00 a.m. Trinity Lutheran Church - Papillion. Interment Evergreen Memorial Park. Memorials requested to the family.
