Preceded in death by his father Lance Hammers; grandparents Charles and Rowena Hammers, Freddie and Evelyn McGee; uncle Terry Hammers; and aunts Anita Hammers and Marge Mesenbrink.
Marty is survived by his mother Rita Hammers; aunts Julie Huff, Dolores Dawson, and Lisa Stasch; uncles Dennis McGee and Michael McGee; many loving cousins.
Marty grew up living in many places throughout the world. The Midwest was his home.
After graduating high school he enlisted in the Marines and was stationed mainly in Southern California. After 4 years of service he returned to the area.
He worked in collision repair and always enjoyed cars. Fast cars.
He rode motorcycles, owning several Harley-Davidsons over the years. He rode to Sturgis, South Dakota almost every year. His past time was fishing and would usually have a fishing pole close by if the opportunity arose.
Marty was cremated and his ashes will be buried in a grave next to the Hammers family upon the death of his mother.
