Mary Kapke Frecks (aka Bub) began her life in Pleasant Dale, Nebraska and would have hated that anything was being written about her. But, because some of us will find comfort in reading it, she would have gone along with the tradition. She enjoyed gardening and watching nature and people. She enjoyed bicycling and road trips. She REALLY enjoyed quilting and was always ready to join any adventure. What she loved most was spending time with her people and in communion with God. If you were in her life, no matter how large or how small the connection, Mary would do what she could to help you. This could be as little as a smile and a friendly greeting or as large as a trip to another country. (Remember her exploits in England and Nicaragua?). She poured her love and life into her husband, Terry; her children, Lora and Andrew; her brothers and their families; her in-laws; and so many extended family members, friends, neighbors, acquaintances, and strangers. She was much loved and will be greatly missed.
