Paul Aranza

January 8, 1926 — June 12, 2017

Paul Aranza passed away peacefully at Rose Vista in Woodbine, Iowa, on Monday, June 12, 2017.

Paul was born and raised in Nebraska and was very much a part in the development of South Omaha. He also served in the Army's 82nd Airborne Division overseas in Europe. Among his many achievements include serving as President of the Greater Omaha Community Action and Board of Governors for Boys Club. He was named Outstanding Citizen of Omaha in 1978. Among his proudest roles was as a key member in starting the GI Forum in Omaha.

Paul held a love of God, family, and country. He devoted his life to community service and was respected and admired by all that knew him.

Paul is survived by his wife, Sandy; daughters Della (Tom) Calabro of Bellevue, NE, Cris (Butch) Piatt of Omaha, Nancy Kuta of Omaha, and Pauline (Tom) Wees of Golden, CO; brother Ralph (Kathy) Aranza; sister Josephine (Fred) Maldonado; brother-in-law Jose Garcia; sister-in-law Margie Arauza; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and step-daughter Brenda (Dave) Dowthitt and family
