age 93 years, of Pueblo, Colorado and formerly of Omaha, Nebraska. Peter Nicholas Pietanze was born April 3, 1923 to Joseph and Rose (Pistillo) Pietanze in Omaha, Nebraska. At an early age Peter was struck with Polio, but excelled in wrestling later at Tech High School where he graduated. He started his 44 year career working at SwiftCompany packing plant in South Omaha where he rose to a position of Millwright. When the main plant closed he continued working as a millwright at the Swift Ham Canning Facility on 96thJ Streets, Omaha. He was joined in matrimony with Norene Edna Fairchild of Shelby, Iowa August 27, 1944 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Omaha. They had two children Patricia Joanne and Steven Peter. Pete enjoyed volunteering for over 25 years at the Sons of Italy in Omaha as well as enjoying activities and friends at Fraternal Order of Eagles in South Omaha. Pete and Norene with help from his brother-in-law, Joe Mead, built their new home on 44thMadison Streets in Omaha. The family moved into the new residence in 1958. Pete lived there even after his wife Norenes passing in 2005. In 2012 Pete moved to Colorado to live with his son Steve and his daughter-in-law Lana. Pete passed away Friday, June 3rd 2016 at the age of 93 in Pueblo, CO. Pete was preceded in death by his parents, wife Norene, granddaughter Gina L. Jacobson, sister Jennie and husband Joe Mead, sister Ann Kuber and husband Charlie, brother Anthony J. Baratta and wife Margaret. Pete is survived by his children Patricia J. Jacobson of Omaha and Steven P. Pietanze and wife Lannette of Pueblo West, CO; grandsons Nicholas S. Pietanze and Brandon P. Pietanze of Sunrise Beach, MO; nephews Tim and wife Sharon, Tom Mead; niece Rosanne of Omaha; nephews Bernie Baratta and wife Joan, Jimmy Baratta and wife Ardy of Omaha; granddaughter Veronica R. Kocher and husband Stan; great-grandsons Dillon W. and Shawn C. Kocher; great-granddaughter Alea V. Kocher of Bennington, NE. Visitation Wednesday, June 8th, after 5:00 p.m. with Vigil Service 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral Thursday, June 9th, 9:20 a.m. Bethany Funeral Home Chapel to Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church (36th and X Streets) for 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment Calvary Mausoleum.
