Prentise is preceded in death by his parents Prentise, Sr. and Pearl Beebe; sister Phyllis Krause; brother Phil Beebe; and grandson Chad Sellhorst.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Betty Beebe; children Cheryl (David) Sellhorst, Gwyn Jarrett, Alan (Jennifer) Beebe, and Deanne (Russ) Flessner; grandchildren Kyle (Ashley) Sellhorst, Megan (Daniel Vargas) Jarrett, Ben Jarrett, Glen Jarrett, Elise Jarrett, Jennelle Jarrett, Kaylee Amato, Elisha Beebe, Keith Jarrett, Ryan Beebe, Jacob Sellhorst, Teresa Jarrett, Kristina Amato, and Taylor (Bernie) Brazda; great - grandchildren Michael Chad Sellhorst, Meyer Brazda, and Maeva Brazda; and nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Prentise will be interred at the Omaha National Cemetery. Due to policy, there will be no committal service at this time. There will be a family memorial service at a later date.
