Becky was born in a small hospital in Canova, South Dakota. Becky's parents, Clara and Edward Poshusta, lived in Howard, South Dakota where Edward managed a lumber yard.
Becky attended Howard grade school and high school and graduated in 1967. Becky then attended South Dakota State University where she graduated in 1971 with a BA in history.
Becky married Lloyd Hegdahl in September 1970. Becky worked for the university for several years when they decided to move to Omaha where her sister Jean lived. In Omaha, Becky worked for several large companies while she continued her education at Metro Tech.
In 1984, Becky became a stay at home mom when her daughter Elizabeth was born. Four years later Nathan was born. Becky continued to stay home until Nathan was in grade school. She then accepted an opportunity to work for the Ralston schools because that would allow her to be home when the kids were home. After the kids were older Becky worked in administrative jobs until she retired in 2011.
Becky is survived by her husband of 51 years Lloyd; Children Elizabeth (Richard) Prusha, Nathan (Tiffany) Hegdahl; Grandchildren Isaac and Alex Prusha; Siblings Mary Walton, Jean (William) Morris and James (Elaine) Poshusta; Sisters-in-law Bonnie (Gary) Callies and Marcene (Thomas) Johnson; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
