HIRBE, Richard Andrew Sr., entered into eternal rest on July 14, 2007 in Omaha, NE. Born 01/05/1919 in Detroit, Michigan, was raised in Norwalk, OH, graduating from St. Paul's High School. His early career was as a teaching golf professional in various Country Clubs in Ohio and Florida. In 1942 he married the late Dorothy Louise in Los Angeles, CA and they were married for 51 years. In the 1940's Dick, known as ""Shorty"" was under contract with MGM Studios in Hollywood, CA and appeared in several motion picture movies and in the ""Hargrove Series"". Towards the end of his career he returned to the game of golf as a professional teaching pro and eventually retired from the City of Houston, TX. in 1982. At the time of his death, he was a resident of Oakland, NE. He is survived by his daughters, Jackie Eubanks, Omaha, NE, Susan Popejoy, Redding, CA, Stephanie Birkelback, Omaha, NE., Lori Hirbe, Oakland, NE and his son, Bro. Richard, FSP, Long Beach, CA. He has one surviving brother, Donald, Redding and sister, MaryJo Mushett, Norwalk, OH. There are 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Mass of the Resurrection in Long Beach, CA at the Motherhouse of the Friars of the Sick Poor and interment alongside his wife at Forest Lawn - Hollywood Hills, CA.
