Richard Leo Brown, Sr. was born on March 30, 1935 in Omaha, NE. He is the son of Hazel Lillian (Patton) and James Leo Brown, Jr. He passed away at his home in Bellevue, NE after a battle with brain cancer on April 12, 2018 at the age of 83.

Richard had 3 foster sisters and 1 foster brother. He graduated from Omaha South High in June 1952. He enlisted in the Army on Jan 13, 1954 and separated on Oct 26, 1955 and served in Korea during the end of the Korean War.Richard was in the reserves a total of 8 years. He married Donna Stieren on September 22, 1956 at Assumption Catholic Church in Omaha, NE. They had 6 children; Richard Jr, Randolph, Suzanne, Robin, Christopher, and Joseph..

Rich, known as "Charlie Brown" by many, retired from Greyhound in 1990 after 31 years and worked as a van driver for the Omaha Public Schools until the end of 1991.Richard retired from Bergan Mercy Hospital; Omaha, NE. where he worked as a security guard and a custodian for 17 years.

Preceded in death by his parents, foster parents, half sister Margaret (John) Kirkle, foster sister Emma (Al) Nissen, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Lois and Paul Tanner.

Survived by his wife, Donna of 61 years, children and spouses:Richard, Jr. (Barbara) of Papillion,NE; Randolph (Roberta) of Portland, OR; Suzanne (Kevin) McGarrigle of Milford, DE; Robin Riehl of St. Louis, MO; Christopher (Elaine) of Bellevue, NE; and Joseph (Michelle) of Bellevue, NE.Grandchildren: Richard (Stefanie) Brown, Michael (Damali) Brown, Amanda (Ryan) Wedergren, Joshua Brown, Jason Brown, Ryan (Carolina) McGarrigle, Cailin McGarrigle, Patricia Riehl, Phillip (Heather) Riehl, Nicholas (Samantha) Riehl, Grant Brown, Cameron Brown, Christina Brown, Kaylee Robinson, and Cooper Robinson. Great-Grandchildren: Shyanne, Jazmin, Shelby, Bryce, Leilana, Brayden, Anela, Camila, Evelyn, and Hendrix; sister-in-law Phyllis (Cliff) Gosch, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
