John R. Ramirez

John Robert Ramirez, January 28, 1943, is survived by his loving wife of 18 years Lisa A. Neu-Ramirez; son John "JJ" Ramirez, daughter ReNae Ramirez; step-sons Jeremy Neu, Tyler (Sarah) Neu; grandchildren Zach Kula, Gabe Kula, and Kirsten (Isaac) Diaz. John was preceded in death by his father Juan Ramirez and mother Flora (Eggleston) Ramirez; sisters Florentina "Teena" Kehne, Juanita Helmink; brother Richard Ramirez. John was a graduate of Omaha South High. John served in the US Army from 1961 to 1963. John married his children's mom, Antoinette (Toni) Armetta in 1964. John was a 32-year Police officer with the La Vista Police Department serving most of his years as a sergeant, and a 12-year police officer with the Omaha Eppley Police Department. John enjoyed golfing which led to a part-time summer position at Elmwood Golf Course. He was a member of the GI Forum serving on the board as a treasurer. He was a member of Our Lady Guadalupe Catholic Church. John was a avid sports fan. He played softball for several years and made lifetime friends. He enjoyed football and supporting the Huskers and the Las Vegas Raiders. Memorials maybe be directed to the La Vista Blue Santa.
