Bob was born on January 11, 1940, in Fort Riley, Kansas to Ruben and Anna Sorenson. Bob’s formative years were somewhat of a challenge and at the age of 13, he entered the Missouri Military Academy in Mexico, Missouri. From June 1956 to June 1957 he served in the Army National Guard; joined the United States Air Force in July of 1957. He served as a Fire Fighter in the 98th Wing Division through December 1961. After his military service, Bob worked numerous odd jobs. Bob met the love of his life, Myrna, on April 7, 1969, in a coffee shop in Lincoln, Nebraska. On April 21 of that same year, they were married. They welcomed 2 daughters, Stacy and Melissa, and made their home in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Bob and Myrna owned and operated a very successful accounting; bookkeeping service from 1975 – 1999. Bob was a die-hard Husker fan, had a great love for his country, and was extremely proud of his 4 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 49 years, Myrna. He is survived by Myrna’s son, Terry (Kim) Bach, and their daughter Deborah. Daughters Stacy (Todd) Wachter; granddaughter Shelby (Luke) Studnicka and grandson Nate Wachter, Melissa (Chuck) Epperson and granddaughter Mallory. Bob was a member of Bluffs City Lodge #71 and Tangier Shrine Legion of Honor.
