Ronald Lee Beckman was born on September 30, 1938, to Ludwig and Erna (Beerbohm) Beckman in Beemer, Nebraska and died on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at the age of 83 years. Ron was baptized at St. John Lutheran Church in Beemer. The family later moved to a farm near Pender, Nebraska. He was confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church near Pender on March 18, 1951. He attended District 61 Rural School and graduated from Pender High School in 1956. On June 8, 1968 Ron married Karen Nancarrow at the Exira Christian Church in Exira, Iowa, and this union was blessed with two sons; Bradley J. Beckman and Eric M. Beckman. Ron began his career working at the Pender Times. In 1958, he entered in the US Army, where he served 18 months with the 24th Infantry Division in Augsburg, Germany. He was honorably discharged in 1960. Ron then went to work for the Omaha World Herald advertising department and retired in 2002 after nearly 40 years. After retiring, he did volunteer work for the Omaha Food Bank, Salvation Army, and the Douglas County Election Commission. Ron is survived by his wife Karen; sons Bradley (fiance Brenda Adrian) and Eric (Jennifer); granddaughters Madison and Joelle; brothers Larry (Kathy) and Dennis; sisters Lorraine Vollers and Arllys (Jim) Campbell; sisters-in-law Joan Beckman, Judith Meyer; brother-in-law Thomas (Mimi) Nancarrow; and many special nieces and nephews. Ron was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Lonald and Arlyn; sisters LaDonna (Richard) Waibel, Marlene (Richard) Cook; brother-in-law Del Vollers; and sister-in-law Belinda Beckman.
